About Us

AED is a small professional drilling company based in Townsville but operate all over Queensland and interstate on occasion. We have been in operation for 14 years and are proud to have a great cliental base and a crew of dedicated long-term employees. All our past and present clients are happy to referee for us and have no problem with you contacting them.

The company started in 2006 with Vital Metals and their Watershed project from 2006 through to 2009. From there we have drilled for numerous clients including Evolution, Auctus Resources, Glencore and Anglo Ashanti as-well as dozens of smaller local clients.

With experience drilling all over Queensland in adverse settings and trying ground conditions the crews are knowledgeable and are equipped with a positive attitude allowing them to complete almost any job.

A little about the Directors

With over 50 years’ experience between them, Peter Johns and Craig Burgess have seen most of what the drilling world has had to offer. Having both worked for large international drilling companies in various different positions ranging from being in field, supervisory roles and project management, they now use that wealth of knowledge and experience as Directors of AED.

They have a strong work ethic and are more often than not the first men on the rigs and the last ones off on any given day, and that work ethic has been instilled in the company leading us to great success.

Along with their practical knowledge both men have achieved a Diploma in Drilling and a Cert IV in training and assessing.
